South Plains Electric Cooperative, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization providing electric service to its members. We are owned and controlled by the members we serve in the counties of: Childress, Cottle, Crosby, Dickens, Floyd, Foard, Garza, Hale, Hall, Hardeman, Hockley, Kent, King, Lamb, Lubbock, Lynn, Motley and Stonewall.

The Cooperative's headquarter office is located in Lubbock.

The Cooperative currently maintains 10,132 miles of line within our 6,600 square miles of service area.

We currently serve approximately 38,000 members and more than 72,816 meters throughout our service territory, with a 3% growth rate.

Our wholesale power suppliers are Golden Spread Electric Cooperative and ACES.

$0.80 of every dollar a member pays the Cooperative is used to purchase wholesale power. The Cooperative operates the day-to-day business on the remaining $0.20.

The Cooperative is a democratically-controlled organization governed by an elected board of directors who are also members of the Cooperative and are elected by the membership.
