To fulfill the mission of neighbors helping neighbors, South Plains Electric Cooperative’s Operation Round Up Board of Directors created a community grant program to better help local non-profit organizations.
Thanks to contributions made by Cooperative members, Operation Round Up awarded $24,000 in grants to 19 local non-profit organizations.
A recipient of an Operation Round Up Community Grant, Child Evangelism Fellowship of the South Plains, is an outreach ministry that impacts children from kindergarten to fifth grade. CEF’s mission is to evangelize these children with the message of salvation, disciple them in the Word of God and establish them in a local church.
CEF was able to use their grant money to hire a part-time children’s ministry specialist and a part-time office manager. Due to CEF’s efforts, three Good News Clubs®, which are after-school Bible clubs, have been established to further achieve their vision of forming a club in every elementary school on the South Plains.
