Concern for Community is one of the Seven Cooperative Principles guiding South Plains Electric Cooperative. Giving back to our community gives our Cooperative the opportunity to support community efforts that enhance the quality of life for members and their families. Operation Round Up helps provide funding for community members in need.
Operation Round Up is funded by Cooperative members rounding their bill up to the nearest dollar. We thank you for your generosity and for the difference you continue to make.
Buffalo Springs Meals on Wheels provided their community with a monthly grocery delivery, a gift card and a weekly delivered meal to those in need.
Communities in Schools of the South Plains helped multiple students and their families out in hard times. They were able to provide funds to pay medical bills, catch up on rent and help a family find a place to stay.
Crosbyton Chamber of Commerce and Lorenzo Country Club used their community grant to purchase a new ice machine. This is the first upgrade of many to a restore the facility that will serve their community well.
Dickens County Library-Spur Public Library used their community grant to enhance their Collaborative Summer Reading Program and book selection. They were able to host a Zoo to You event for the community, assist the South Plains Rehabilitation Center and the Dickens County Farm Bureau Storytime event.
Kingdom Come Ministries used their grant to honor 550 teachers during teacher appreciation week with luncheons, treats and notes of encouragement to thank them for their committed service to children in the community.
Lubbock Impact was able to take children for a fun day of adventures at Blazing Bouncers and the Science Spectrum. They also hosted Kids Camp throughout the summer which included crafts, games, theme days, snacks and Bible story lessons for children in the community.
